 Sandy Valley Fasteners was founded in 1999 with one employee and quickly growing to support two, then three more staff members. Soon we were certified as Small Woman-Owned business in a federally designated HUB zone, in addition to being certified as a DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) by the State of Kentucky and the SBA.
The founding staff member and CEO, Christy Henry remained focused and worked diligently in the field as well as administratively for the next few years from a small office and warehouse. The demand for government procurement became so great Ms Henry left the local field service and now spends her time managing a staff of ten and continues to work with military supply buyers, buying and shipping all over the world.
Since the fall of 2005, the Sandy Valley Fasteners staff has enjoyed working in their new 7000 square foot building. The new location accommodates six private offices, large counter sales store front, a shipping department, spacious stock warehouse, and receiving dock.
With a vision, hard work and dedication we have expanded our customer base from local and regional construction and mining industries to a worldwide market. Working with all branches of our U.S. Military all over the globe, we are able to supply our Nations armed forces with the equipment and supplies needed to perform their job. The competent and hard working staff at Sandy Valley Fasteners takes great pride in serving our troops here at home and abroad.
Military buyers know that when something is needed for our troops they can depend on us.
In April of 2006 we received the “2005 CUSTOMER SERVICE AWARD” from Special Operations Forces Support Activity, chosen out of over 200 other suppliers from across the country. This award was given to us as a representation of our "on time delivery", and our continued commitment to selling only quality products.
In addition to the Customer Service Award, we have implemented and are using a new shipment tracking technology called RFID .
RFID (Radio Frequency Identifier) is tracking technology used in shipping that allows the shipped product to be tracked at all times by GPS, and the U.S. Department of Defense is mandating that all shipments be RFID compliant. |
